Episode 44: Fundrive 2026!

Full disclosure, this episode of Analog Archives contains almost no music

Fundrive is here once again, and so is my sincere ask that you consider a donation to support CJSF! I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what the theme of this year’s episode should be. Thankfully, I found inspiration in a single box. This box contained dozens of cassettes documenting decades old CJSF interviews, radio show demos, SFU sports games commentary, and so so sooo much more.

After sorting through what felt like a bottomless pit, I compiled some highlights, and i can’t wait to share them all with you.

This episode is dedicated to the public affairs history of the radio station where I first got started. A place where I fumbled through numerous awkward interviews and live broadcasts before I felt like I found my footing. For me, CJSF has always been a place to try new things, experiment, mess up sometimes, and showcase our local communities. These tapes are testament to that.

These tapes also showcase just how long we’ve been doing this for! What other media outlet in 1997 was sending out a first-year university student to cover a North Vancouver High School Battle of the Bands with nothing more than a recorder and some headphones (presumably). There is a lot of cool stuff going on here at CJSF; I hope you decide to support that.

Tune in tonight to Analog Archives at 6PM Pacific, 90.1 FM/cjsf.ca!

Also, thank you to Winter Darbey for this year’s Fundrive art!
