Episode 38: 64 Funnycars!

A couple of months ago, I came across a record in the Archives here at CJSF that caught my eye. I played it that night on Analog Archives.

That record was Happy Go Lucky by 64 Funnycars, a band of college rockers from the late-80s/early-90s underground scene in Victoria.

Thankfully, our Programming Coordinator at the station, Jesse, pointed out to me that 64 Funnycars had actually just released a reissue of their 1989 album, Happy Go Lucky, and were doing some live shows!

As someone who routinely finds awesome local bands from the 80s and 90s for this show who have seemingly disappeared off the face of the earth, this felt especially promising, and I reached out to them for an interview.

They responded! And I got on a call with two of the group's founding members, Tim Chan and Colin Macrae.

A big thank you to 64 Funnycars for the conversation!

Tune in to listen to some songs from the Happy Go Lucky reissue and and learn some facts about the band!

Things like: Why did you put out this reissue? What are some of your inspirations? Why are you called 64 Funnycars?
